What is the recovery like after chin implants?

Chin surgery is outpatient surgery with a relatively simple recovery. Most patients can even return to work (well, office work) within 3-5 days of their surgery. Surgical recovery depends on a few factors, like your personal habits, how well you follow your post-op care plan, and if it was a single procedure or part of a more complex operation.

After the surgery, you can expect bruising and swelling for the first two days. As always, Dr. Larsen will prepare you for what you should expect throughout the healing process. Discomfort is usually mild and can be managed with cold compresses and pain medication. For the first two weeks, you will have to make a few lifestyle adjustments. For instance, you will need to sleep face up, with your head elevated to help reduce swelling and prevent irritating your incisions. Dr. Larsen might also require you to eat an all-liquid diet for a day or two.

Chin enhancement or Chin augmentation also called genioplasty, is a cosmetic surgery that is used to improve the look of the chin, jawline, and neck.
